began her makeup journey at Empire Beauty School in NewYork City. Upon her return to Trinidad, she secured a position with NYX Cosmetics at a local mall. Soon thereafter an opportunity presented itself with MAC Cosmetics where she further developed her skill and technique and was promoted to Product Specialist within the company. This turned out to be a very rewarding experience as she was able to represent Trinidad and the brand in cities such as Las Vegas and New York. In 2013, after over 6 years of working her way through the industry, Arry made the decision to venture out on her own as a Freelance Makeup Artist further working on her craft and growing her skill set, culminating as one third of The MUA House.
Katrina’s teen years were set in stone for her to become an Accountant, following in her mother’s footsteps.
However at the age of 19, after completing 6th Form, she negotiated for a year off to take a break from the academics to try something different, something more creative…. Makeup Artistry. Upon completion of the Advanced Makeup course with Ephriam Hunte she began to consider it as a career. That year she worked for a few months at a local TV station doing makeup for the weekend news anchors and soon thereafter was hired at MAC Cosmetics in WestMall as a Makeup Artist. During the next six and a half years at MAC Cosmetics, she had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the best Trainers and Senior Artists of the company and was able to achieve many levels of MAC Certification which included Fashion Show and Editorial. Feeling the need to reach even further, she made the decision to team up with her fellow MAC colleagues to create The MUA House.
has been a professionally trained freelance Makeup Artist since 2008. Growing up Krysta always excelled at art and design. However, after many years working in a corporate environment she still felt the need for creative release and did a makeup course with a family friend and Makeup Artist in 2008. Realizing she had natural talent, this led to doing makeup part time for friends and family for two and a half years, while still working in Administration. In 2011 she secured a full-time position with MAC Cosmetics, where she further honed her talent, technique and speed which set her on the path to becoming a freelance Makeup Artist. Four years later after building her client base, working and networking on her own as a freelancer, she joined forces with two her friends and MAC alumni, resulting in the birth of The MUA House.
